Clisson: a company evening disrupted by a drone show and fireworks

The party lasted until the depths of the night. Thursday September 24, southeast of Nantes, the evening of the inhabitants of Clisson was disrupted by an unexpected chaos. Part of the town was overwhelmed, until late in the day, with roaring music as well as a drone show accompanied by fireworks. Despite questions from local residents, the event organized on the Hellfest site was in no way a catch-up concert linked to the extreme music festival. It was actually a corporate evening which brought together nearly 2,200 people.

Assailed by complaints, the town hall admitted having been partly presented with a fait accompli. “The City of Clisson was only informed of the existence of this project during the summer of 2026, when many organizational elements were already engaged between the different parties,” regretted the community. She also noted that the event had been prepared “for more than a year” by its organizer, Maindron Production. He then received the agreement from Hellfest Production, owner of the heart of the land allocated each summer to the festival.

A show validated by the prefecture

According to information from our colleagues at L'Hebdo de Sèvre & Maine, the evening which caused the mayhem was organized on behalf of the Vendée cooperative VST, based in La Ferrière, near La Roche-sur-Yon. The cooperative celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Despite the uproar, the municipality emphasizes that the legal obligations were respected by the organizers. The drone and fireworks show received the approval of the prefecture. Written agreement was requested from the neighboring Hellfest property owners. Finally, measures have been taken to limit nuisance.

Thursday evening, the mayor of Clisson, Laurence Luneau, visited the site to ensure the smooth running of the event and compliance with nuisance limitation measures. The next day, the councilor decided to no longer organize events “of this nature and magnitude” in the town – swearing, albeit a little late, that he would not be taken there again.
