The ringleader of the violent kidnapping of Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner sentenced to nine years in prison

Ilyas Kherbouch, 21 years old and nicknamed Ganito, has been sentenced to nine years in prison and a fine of 80,000 euros for having led the violent kidnapping in July 2023 of the Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, then at PSG, and his partner, who was pregnant and suffered a miscarriage shortly afterwards.

In a sentence released in the early hours of this Saturday, after a trial that took place on September 10 and 11 at the Paris Correctional Court and which had to be interrupted by insults and threats from Ganito, his colleague Khyan Mamouni, 22 years old and designated by the prosecution as the other mastermind of the operation, was acquitted.

Another of the participants, Moktar Diop, 24 years old, has been sentenced to five years in prison, two exempt from serving.

The current Manchester City goalkeeper and his partner, Alessia Elefante, did not attend the trial.

The assault and kidnapping of the Italian goalkeeper's house in the luxurious VIII district of Paris was particularly violent, as both were tied up and beaten. Elefante was only a few weeks pregnant and, shortly after the incident, she lost the fetus in a miscarriage.

The estimated loot that the assailants took was around one million euros.
