During the interview given to journalist Iara Lins, the candidate explained the situation in the PL in the state in relation to the party fund and denies voting to Rodrigo Valadares in Sergipe, and that he is in favor of the impeachment of minister Alexandre de Moraes and other topics.
The candidate spoke about the criticisms he made about the distribution of the Electoral Fund among PL candidates in Sergipe.
"What I found strange is that PL candidates who support Lula's governor in Sergipe have received a very considerable amount of Electoral Fund [...] There is a very large inconsistency within the PL and also in the distribution of the Electoral Fund, which is public campaign financing", he said.
He also mentioned that he had given up the electoral fund, but that he still received R$250,000 from the party. “It is deposited, it will be spent on the campaign together with our state and federal deputies, our governor and our President of the Republic Flávio Bolsonaro”, he explained.
Coronel Rocha also reinforced that he disagrees that candidates who do not fully support the party receive resources, since the PL in Sergipe does not even have names to represent the party. And that he does not support Rodrigo Valadares' candidacy. "I don't vote for Rodrigo Valadares, he went to social media and defended the PL's second null vote. So if he excluded me from his election, I'm also excluding him."
The candidate also said that he calmly received Carlos Bolsonaro's statement, who stated that Sergipe had only one candidate for the Senate, who would be Rodrigo Valadares. "I didn't accept the invitation and it wasn't Carlos Bolsonaro who invited me. I'm very sorry that he makes a decision like that and doesn't even listen to the people here," he said, adding that despite the unilateral decision, he is determined to get votes for the party.
Asked about a statement made in 2022, when Coronel Rocha declared that Bolsonaro's government had not registered any act of corruption, he stated that the processes citing the Bolsonaro family are suspicions without proof. "It's just a narrative from the left, there is no proof. There is no conviction of Bolsonaro to date, including corruption in his government."
Regarding the recent controversies involving the names of ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the candidate stated that one of his flags is the impeachment and arrest of minister Alexandre de Moraes. "He has to be arrested. There is no longer room for just the impeachment process," he said.
He also mentioned that the number of deaths of men in relation to women, shown in the National Public Security Forum, does not have the same count and stated that he is in favor of toughening up serious crimes. "I defend the toughening of sentences against murderers, against robbers, against pedophiles, rapists, including feminicides as well [...] And I also defend the reduction of the age of criminal responsibility," he said.
Regarding the use of body cameras by police officers, the candidate said that the subject must be debated so that the police officer is not given a negative image due to the use of the equipment.
Asked about the defense of those granted amnesty for those involved in the January 8th coup acts, he stated that there was no articulation to prevent the inauguration of president-elect Lula. Regarding the people who vandalized the property, he commented: "I do not advocate that they be amnestied for the vandalism of public property. What cannot be generalized."
Another topic mentioned during the interview was his position on vaccination. "I'm in favor of vaccination, I've always had it, my daughters were all vaccinated. Except for Covid," he stated.
