The collision between a sleeper bus and a tractor-trailer on Bai Vot - Ham Nghi highway left 5 people injured

Ha Tinh A collision between a sleeper bus and a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction on Bai Vot - Ham Nghi highway injured 5 people and caused traffic jams on the morning of September 6.

At around 3:50, a Ha Tinh sleeper bus carrying dozens of people, traveling on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi highway in the South - North direction, to Km508+000, passing through Toan Luu commune (formerly in Thach Ha district), crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer going in the same direction.

The accident injured 5 people on the bus, mainly in the neck, arms, and legs. Some other passengers were stunned, suffered minor scratches, and opened their doors to escape.

At the scene, the front of the passenger car was deformed, the front glass was broken, and many passengers' luggage was thrown into the middle of the road. The tractor's rear was severely damaged.

Two vehicles were blocking the two lanes, causing traffic congestion on the north-south highway for hundreds of meters since 4am.

The functional forces divide and guide vehicles down to the highway intersection with provincial road 548, through Dong Loc commune, to get to National Highway 1.

According to the expressway management unit, at the time of the accident, it was not raining, the road surface was normal, and the traffic safety system was complete.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway is about 35 km long, with a total investment of more than 7,600 billion VND, starting in early 2023 and put into operation from April 2025. Phase one has 4 lanes, maximum speed 90 km/h, minimum speed 60 km/h.
