Former referee Yuri Chebotarev will be tried in the case of fixing the Khimki - Alania match

The well-known former football referee Yuri Chebotarev, among other defendants, will be tried in the case of influencing the result of the Khimki - Alania match in 2023, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told RIA Novosti.

According to the investigation, the head of FC Khimki, Khasan Dzhioev, tried to ensure the victory of his team in the match against Alania on November 20, 2023. In Chechnya, through an intermediary Pavel Stipidi, he offered chief referee Andrei Fisenko 2 million rubles, who gave assistants Artem Perov and Khamid Talaev 200 thousand rubles each, and match inspector Yuri Chebotarev 400 thousand rubles.

“The criminal case has been sent to the Akhmatovsky District Court of the city of Grozny for consideration on the merits,” the press service of the Russian Civil Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The arbitrator, inspector, assistants and intermediary are accused under parts 3, 4, 5 of Article 184 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Exerting unlawful influence on the result of an official sports competition or spectacular commercial competition.”
