The Iranian Foreign Minister comments on the Pentagon report on American losses

(CNN) - The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, commented on the proposition that “Iran has no defenses,” based on official figures issued by the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon.

Araqchi attached a page from a Pentagon report entitled “Operation ‘Epic Fury’... Report to Congress, April 1, 2026.”

Araqchi commented on the report in a blog post on the X platform (formerly Twitter), on Tuesday, saying: “The claim: Iran has no defenses... The truth: hundreds of American military sites were completely destroyed, and dozens of aircraft burned. (Source: The Pentagon).”

He continued: "This is only the tip of the iceberg. We will reveal all the details at the appropriate time. As for those who spread lies about Iran, the consequences will not be pleasant for them."

The official oversight body in the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) issued a special report, on Monday, on the war on Iran, which represents the ministry’s first official inventory of the losses inflicted on American equipment and installations as a result of this conflict.

The Inspector General stated - based on his communication with the US Central Command (Centcom) - that “Iranian strikes damaged and destroyed hundreds of buildings and facilities at American bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Jordan” during the first months of the war.

The report - which covers the period from the beginning of the war on February 28 to June 30 - also acknowledged the depletion of major stocks of American ammunition.
