In the Irkutsk region, outdoor health days were canceled due to bears. This was reported by the government of the Russian region.

School events were advised to be moved to the premises of educational institutions. In just three days, 180 requests for the appearance of predators were received from residents of different areas of the Angara region. “In three days, 32 bears were killed, 14 of them in the past 24 hours. In total, 212 individuals have been killed since the beginning of the period of bear activity,” the regional government emphasized.

On September 18, a high alert regime was introduced in the Irkutsk region due to the increasing number of cases of bears entering populated areas.

Before this, it became known that in the Kamchatka Territory a bear attacked a watchman of an energy company. The man received non-life-threatening injuries.
