In response to the United Nations' "2026 International Year of Women Farmers", the New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau will hold the "From Women's Stories to Organic Future" online transnational forum on September 24, inviting four frontline female representatives from Taiwan, Indonesia and India to share practical experiences in organic farming, production and marketing promotion, and participation in international organizations. The forum will be provided with two-way interpretation in Chinese and English. Free online registration will be open from now on, inviting the public to see the key energy of women in the agricultural field.
The Agriculture Bureau explained that New Taipei City has long promoted cross-border exchanges in organic agriculture. Since joining the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement Asia (IFOAM Asia) in 2019, it has continued to exchange experience in organic agriculture, nutritious school lunches and sustainability. This year coincides with the International Year of Women Farmers, which aims to recognize the contribution of women in the global agricultural and food system and pay attention to women's rights to acquire land, capital, technology and participate in decision-making. This forum started from "How women influence organic agriculture" and invited four women from different backgrounds to share how to exert substantial influence on the land and agricultural scene.

The Agricultural Bureau stated that the local representatives invited Zhang Limei, the first female director-general of the New Taipei City Farmers' Association, to talk about her practical experience in serving the farmers' association for more than 30 years and deeply cultivating the supply, marketing and distribution of agricultural products; Lu Yizhen, a female young farmer at the Tamsui Niupu Organic Farm, shared her investment in organic vegetable and fruit planting and promoting food agriculture education in schools and daily life; in terms of the transnational speaker lineup, including Emilia Tri, vice president of IFOAM Asia who has long been involved in rural development, small farmer organizations and women's training Setyowati; and Shamika Mone, president of the International Organization of Organic Farmers (INOFO), who turned from a researcher into traditional rice cultivation and seed conservation.
New Taipei City Agriculture Director Chen Xihui pointed out that he hopes that through the exchange of female agricultural workers at home and abroad, everyone can see the diverse power of women in production, operation, marketing and organization, and bring foreign experience back to New Taipei City. The forum will be held entirely online, with simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and English.
