Six people die in accident between bus and trailer on BR-116

Six people died and more than 30 were injured in an accident between a bus and a trailer on BR-116, in Cachoeira de Pajeú, in the North of Minas. The collision happened around 8pm, at km 25 of the highway.

According to the Federal Highway Police, the passenger list indicated that there were 41 passengers on the bus, which was heading from São Paulo to Senhor do Bonfim (BA). The accident happened at the interchange that connects BRs-251 and 116.

"The bus was traveling on BR-251 and instead of stopping, it continued and collided crosswise with the truck, which was traveling towards Cachoeira do Pajeú towards Itaobim. After the first collision, both vehicles overturned", said PRF Victor Júnior.

According to the Civil Police, 31 people were injured and were taken to hospitals in the region by firefighters and Samu.

‘Dedicated, brilliant and human doctor’: who is the orthopedist who died after a serious accident at MGC-122

This week, orthopedic doctor Hugo Leonardo Vieira Mendes, aged 38, died this week, who was seriously injured in an accident at MGC-122, in Porteirinha, on the 10th.

The clinic where he worked deeply mourned the professional's death and highlighted his dedication and love for medicine.

Two women die and two men are injured in accident on BR-135

According to information from Samu, the four people were in two cars. With the impact of the collision, which occurred at km 473, one of the cars left the road and fell into a bank.

In the vehicle that fell into the embankment, there was a woman trapped in the wreckage, who had already died. A 59-year-old man was also trapped in the car. He was removed with open fractures to his arms and legs and a wound to his face. He received treatment and was taken by helicopter to Hospital das Clínicas, in Montes Claros.

In the other car, according to Samu, were a woman and a 14-year-old teenager. The driver was also trapped in the wreckage and succumbed to her injuries. The death was confirmed at the scene.
