Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns UAV attacks targeting Mecca

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Houthis' drone attacks targeting the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

In the written statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of Saudi Arabia was confirmed. Solidarity with Saudi Arabia was emphasized once again.

"We reiterate our call to immediately end these attacks, which also threaten regional stability and security, and to avoid any actions aimed at further escalating tensions," the statement said.

STATEMENT FROM BURHANETTİN DURAN

Director of Communications Burhanettin Duran also condemned the attacks. Duran shared it on his social media account.

Duran said, "I condemn in the strongest terms the vile attack attempt made with a drone, targeting the sanctity and security of Mecca."

"Any attempt to attack the Haremeyn-i Sharifeyn, which is the sacred value of the Islamic world, hurts the common conscience of all of us. Preserving the peace and security of Mecca is a great sensitivity for the entire Islamic world.

As our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan always expresses, the Islamic world does not need new conflicts, but common sense, dialogue and lasting peace.

"I express that we stand by brother Saudi Arabia and wish him a speedy recovery."
