Morelos Prosecutor's Office issues arrest warrant against suspect in the feminicide of Claudia Tacoronte

The Morelos Prosecutor's Office announced this Wednesday that a judge has issued an arrest warrant against Francisco Javier N, alias El Trompas, for the feminicide of Claudia Tacoronte. The State Attorney General, Fernando Blumenkron Escobar, has assured that the suspect is already wanted by the authorities for fatally wounding the Spanish student who was on an exchange and lived in Cuernavaca, while she was studying Early Childhood Education at the UAEM. “The investigative work and the videos provided by citizens, among other indications, allowed the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Investigation and Prosecution of the Crime of Femicide to request an arrest warrant from the judicial authority, which was granted and in which elements are being deployed to comply with it and place Francisco Javier N at the disposal of a court,” the agency said in a statement.

Prosecutor Fernando Blumenkron Escobar has indicated that the identification of the suspect has been achieved thanks to investigative work in coordination with the Security Cabinet, focused on the crime that has shaken Morelos. "I want to inform you that yesterday we obtained from a specialized judge, the Femicide Prosecutor's Office obtained an arrest warrant for the femicide of Claudia Tacoronte Aguilera, against a male, later today, we are going to release the file, this person responds to the name of Francisco Javier N and he is attributed responsibility for the femicide," noted the state head.

In the videos from the security cameras of the neighbors near the House of Culture, in the center of Cuautla, where Tacoronte was attacked, a man appears running at the time of the crime. He wears a white sweatshirt and a black backpack. He had already been captured on other occasions by video surveillance systems in robberies in different businesses in Cuautla. One of the lines of investigation points to an attempted assault that led to the murder with a knife of the 21-year-old girl, who had barely been in Mexico for a month and had gone to Cuautla for the medicinal plants fair.

Tacoronte managed to enter the House of Culture with serious injuries and ask for help, while the suspect escaped from the place. The neighbors tried to help her, others ran after the man in the white sweatshirt, but he was far ahead of them. When medical services arrived, they could no longer save her. Neighbors interviewed by local media indicate that the ambulance arrived around 9:15 p.m., about half an hour after the attack.
