Two men were arrested this Sunday morning (4), for using their cell phones inside the voting booth to violate voting secrecy in the municipalities of Santa Luzia and Patos, in the Sertão da Paraíba. The information was confirmed by the Military Police and the Civil Police.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Deuslânio Menezes, commander of the 3rd Battalion, a man was arrested in the act trying to film his own vote inside a voting booth at the Arlindo Beto Municipal School, in Santa Luzia.
"The voter left a cell phone with the poll worker and hid another to film the ballot box," said the commander.
The man was spotted by the poll worker, who called the Military Police. The voter was taken to the Santa Luzia Civil Police station for the usual procedures.
In Patos, a man filmed his own vote and released the images through a group on a messaging app, showing the candidate for whom he had voted.
Delegate Thitto Amorin reported that, after being notified by electoral judge Isabela Joseane, the Civil Police went to the polling place and, using the list of voters who had already voted, identified the voter.
"We then went to the individual's house and upon arrival, we were met by this voter who immediately gave us information that he knew why we were there. Which was because he had posted this video, but he regretted it and had already deleted it", reported the delegate.
The man was taken to the Federal Police, where a detailed statement was recorded. The voter will respond freely.
