Two arrest warrants are served against suspects in residential robberies in João Pessoa

Two arrest warrants were served this Wednesday (9) against suspected members of a criminal group responsible for home robberies. Police chief Lucas Sá informed TV Cabo Branco that suspects had been identified for passing on information about the victims' homes to the robbers.

One of them was a gas and water delivery man and took advantage of entering the victims' properties to inform about the dynamics of the residences. To date, at least seven victims have been identified.

"We were able to identify those responsible for passing on the victims' information. One of them, a service provider, delivered both gas and water to these homes. And they were responsible for passing on the information of all the victims, seven victims to date."

One of the targets of the warrants in this third phase of the operation was already arrested for another crime.

According to the delegate, 20 people involved in this group have so far been identified, including people who received bank transfers. Most of them lived in a condominium in the Gramame neighborhood. The robberies were carried out in neighborhoods in the south of João Pessoa, such as Valentina, Colibris, Mangabeira and Portal do Sol.

The first phase of the operation was carried out on August 26th, in the condominium in Gramame, where a large part of the group lived. At the time, three preventive arrest warrants and seven search and seizure warrants were served.

On September 1st, the second phase was carried out. According to the Civil Police, investigations identified two local leaders of the group and five other people who were responsible for carrying out the robberies. Informants who allegedly helped two members of the criminal organization escape were also identified.
