Operation Insídia investigates servers for facilitating entry of cell phones into MT prison

Operation Insídia complies with eight court orders this Wednesday (9), in Cuiabá. Among the measures are two preventive arrests, two searches and seizures, two freezing of valuables and the temporary suspension of public functions of those being investigated.

The investigations began in June 2025, after the police analyzed seized materials and found transfers via Pix to the teacher. Payments would have been made by detainees or people close to them, including family members and authorized visitors.

The movements caught the attention of investigators and were related to a complaint about the clandestine entry of cell phones and other products into the prison unit. The suspicion is that the servers received money to facilitate the access of objects to the prison.

According to the investigation, the criminal police officer charged between R$7,000 and R$10,000 per cell phone that would be delivered to members of the faction. To make it difficult to track the money, he would have used his partner's bank account to receive part of the payments.

According to the investigation, the teacher used authorized access to the interior of the Várzea Grande Resocialization Center, where she worked in annexed rooms of a state school, to help with the entry of objects. The criminal police officer, in turn, would have used his own functional duties to facilitate the entry of cell phones and other items intended for members of the criminal organization.

For researchers, the privileged access of the two employees to the prison environment was fundamental to the operation of the scheme.

In addition to the arrests and searches, the Court ordered the precautionary suspension of the public functions of the two investigated while the investigations are ongoing. Blocking of amounts in the suspects' accounts were also authorized. In the case of the teacher, the limit is R$14,600. For the criminal police officer, the block amounts to R$25,500.

The searches aim to find documents, devices and other materials that can help clarify how the scheme works and identify possible participants.

Investigations continue to discover whether other people participated in the scheme and assess the group's activities.
