Two are arrested for stealing a shipment of medicines; app cars were used in the attack

The robbery took place on September 30, on Rodovia Presidente Dutra, near Pavuna. The truck was transporting 16 pallets of medicines, valued at R$488,042.49.

At least 3 cars used in the attack were registered on an app-based passenger transport platform and continued to circulate around the city.

According to the Cargo Robbery and Theft Police Station (DRFC), the group has links with criminals from the Third Pure Command (TCP) who operate in Complexo da Maré, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

Around 10 men participated in the attack, using at least 7 vehicles, 5 cars and 2 motorcycles. The truck was approached a few minutes after leaving the carrier.

The investigation indicates that the group met before the robbery near the company. The vehicles were used to monitor, approach and escort the truck.

According to the police, one of the members was responsible for neutralizing the truck's electronic security systems. After the approach, the blocking system was deactivated, and the license plates were exchanged for those of another truck with similar characteristics.

The vehicle was later recovered near Complexo da Maré, without its cargo.

In 15 days of investigation, DRFC identified 5 cars used in the action. The investigations were based on images from security cameras, license plate reading systems, tracking data and information provided by private companies. The work was supported by the Intelligence sector of the Federal Highway Police (PRF).
