The documentary "Musk" directed by Alex Gibney premiered in Venice

28-year-old St. Clair, previously known for her activity in conservative circles and critical statements about transgender people, now looks at her former views with distance. During a press conference in Venice, she admitted that her previous opinions were largely the result of her young age and the influence of her surroundings. However, she emphasized that she did not treat this as an excuse and hoped that her current attitude would be an inspiration to others.

Behind the scenes of the creation of the document

Director Alex Gibney began working on the documentary in 2023. One of the first people he invited to participate was Elon Musk himself. However, the billionaire refused and described the film as a "hit piece" - material intended to present him in a negative light. Despite this, Gibney did not give up talking to people around Musk - both his former colleagues, friends and critics. However, not everyone decided to appear in front of the camera.

A four-hour portrait of a billionaire

The documentary "Musk" lasts almost four hours and premiered during the Venice Film Festival. Initially, Gibney did not plan such an extensive film, but - as he himself admits - the material grew along with Musk's growing influence on the world of business, politics and technology. The film includes threads about Musk's activities in SpaceX, Tesla, the takeover of Twitter (now X) and projects related to xAI.

Strong words about Musk

During the press conference, the director did not bite his tongue. Quoted by Variety, Gibney called Musk a "megalomaniac" and "a very dangerous man," pointing out his reluctance to empathize and take other people's perspectives. Ashley St. Clair added that in Musk's case we are dealing with a "conscious rejection of empathy."
