A video is circulating on social media that supposedly shows presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) saying that, if elected, he will cut pensions and 13th salary. It's #FAKE.

🔴 What’s the video like?
The material has gone viral on Instagram, TikTok, X and WhatsApp at least since this Wednesday (7).
In the video, Flávio Bolsonaro appears alongside his wife, Fernanda Bolsonaro and surrounded by microphones, in an interview with reporters. In the speech, the false statement attributed to the candidate is this: "I would like to thank the Brazilian very much for this historic vote and I would like to say that we are going to change Brazil by making cuts to the economy, starting by removing the pension that many retirees receive without need. It is not fair for an elderly person to receive two rooms. We will put this pension money into gasoline. 13th we will also make a drastic cut. Nest money [is] another thing we will cut [...]".
He then states that he will analyze the Bolsa Família program and ends by saying: "The victory is ours."
But these statements are false. The authors of the material used artificial intelligence (AI) to produce synthetic audio and synchronize it with the movement of Flávio Bolsonaro's lips, as evidenced by the detection tools used by Fato ou Fake (see details below). The scene that served as the basis for the false version is an interview given on Sunday (4), in which the candidate stated that he was "very happy" with the result of the first round and that "Brazil wants to change". He had 47.03% of the votes and will contest the second round, on October 25, with Lula, who had 45.16%.
⚠️ Why is it #FAKE?
Fato ou Fake also submitted the fake video to two tools that detect content made with AI, and both highlighted the use of the resource. See the results of the analyzes (and the infographics below):
Hive Moderation - 83.1% probability that the audio was manipulated with AI.
Hiya/InVID - 99% chance the audio was AI-generated: "Hiya.com considers this audio fragment to be most likely AI-generated."

Sought by Fato ou Fake, Flávio Bolsonaro's press office stated that this was an "evident AI montage" and "electoral fake news" (read the full statement at the end of this check).
In the real recording, the candidate's speech was this:
"I'm really happy with the result we had here now. There are almost 56 million Brazilian men and women who gave this vote of confidence for change. The word is change. Brazil can't take it anymore, and I'm very satisfied, because many research institutes gave us the back. Our tracking gave us the front, as happened, with a real chance that we would have a victory in the first round. It was very close. But I was very happy with the number of Brazilians who took to the streets, they went to the polls, in other words, to demonstrate, they did not remain silent, because they wanted this change".
Full note from Flávio Bolsonaro
Read the statement below:
"The obvious montage made by AI is electoral fake news, which is a crime in Brazil. Another criminal attempt by the PT network to deceive the people. Flávio Bolsonaro has already made it clear, countless times, that he will not save money to serve those who need it most. The 13th salary, pensions and all labor rights provided for in the Federal Constitution are unquestionable and will be protected."
