Monthly reporting obligation has been introduced for e-commerce and digital platforms

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette; E-commerce sites, social media platforms and advertisement sites will regularly report all house, car, goods sales and rental advertisements placed on the internet to the Ministry of Finance every month.

With the change, not only shopping sites; All kinds of buying, selling, renting, announcement and advertising activities carried out via the internet, social media and digital platforms were included in the scope of tax audit. Arrangement; It covers all institutions and companies that provide opportunities in the digital environment, from e-commerce sites to social media giants, from internet service providers to advertising sites.

In accordance with the new regulation, the Revenue Administration may impose an obligation on companies to provide information to monitor all commercial activities carried out on the internet. Companies; will have the authority to determine data such as business volume, type of goods sold or rented, sales amounts and advertisement details.

One of the most important changes made in the communiqué was the monthly reporting obligation imposed on advertising sites and social media platforms. All platforms that allow posting advertisements for the sale/rental of movable (cars, goods, etc.), immovable properties (houses, land, etc.) or services over the internet will be obliged to report the information to the Ministry of Finance regularly every month.
