TSMC is involved in the US patent infringement lawsuit. Ministry of Economic Affairs: Industry attaches great importance to intellectual property rights

[Reporter Liao Jianing/Taipei Report] US media reported that TSMC was involved in a US patent infringement lawsuit. The Ministry of Economic Affairs responded by emphasizing that my country’s semiconductor industry has long valued intellectual property rights.

"Axios" reported that Irish patent licensing companies Longitude Licensing and Marlin Semiconductor jointly filed a complaint with the ITC, accusing TSMC of infringing its patent rights by using chips produced by advanced processes. The related technology is one of the key technologies of AI accelerator chips.

In response to TSMC's patent dispute in the United States, the Ministry of Economic Affairs emphasized that my country's semiconductor industry has long attached importance to intellectual property rights, maintained close cooperation with international customers and supply chain partners, and operated in accordance with laws and regulations in all major operating locations around the world.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs also stated that the government will continue to pay attention to subsequent developments, maintain contact with relevant industries, and provide appropriate assistance when necessary to ensure the stable operation and supply chain resilience of Taiwan's semiconductor industry in the international market.
