The State Duma threatened to strike German military targets

Russia not only condemns Germany’s plans, but declares these military targets in advance to be a legitimate target for attack, said Alexei Zhuravlev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee. He gave a comment to Lenta.ru.

It was previously reported that Germany’s intentions to develop long-range weapons, if implemented, would be regarded by Moscow as a direct threat to Russia and the Union State. The locations of Germany's planned systems will inevitably turn into legitimate military targets.

The deputy noted that Germany, France and Great Britain are deliberately escalating the conflict. Work has begun on creating a long-range arsenal for strikes at a distance of up to 2 thousand kilometers, while it is not hidden that all this is for bombing Russian territory, he emphasized.

“Will Russia destroy them? Yes, this is a direct consequence of the statement. Declaring objects as legitimate military targets is a signal that in the event of missile deployment, the Russian Armed Forces reserve the right to launch a preemptive or retaliatory strike against them. In essence, this is an official warning that Germany will create targets for Russian attacks on its territory with its own hands,” Zhuravlev explained.
