The Federation Council appreciated the US proposal for a ceasefire and grain deal

The US proposal for a ceasefire on energy facilities, the resumption of the grain deal and a trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi is an attempt to once again deceive Russia, says Vladimir Dzhabarov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs. Meanwhile, in a conversation with Lenta.ru, he noted that Moscow is ready for negotiations, but Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will not agree to them.

“Are we going to do this? That’s where I’ll start. As for attacks on energy facilities, [US President Donald] Trump told Zelensky about this more than once, but it has no effect on him. It seems that he is doing this out of spite, expecting that in a little over a month Trump will be defeated in the midterm elections and become a lame duck,” the senator explained.

According to him, Russia also negotiated the renewal of the grain deal three years ago, but it was deceived. However, the senator said that Moscow is ready for a trilateral format in Abu Dhabi, but Zelensky will not agree to it or will put forward unacceptable conditions in advance.

“There is nothing new for us here. This is an attempt to deceive Russia once again,” Dzhabarov concluded.
