In order to improve pedestrian traffic safety around the school, the Education Bureau of the Tainan City Government invested nearly 9.04 million yuan to improve the access path to Wujia Elementary School in Guanmiao District. It has been successfully completed. The new path has barrier-free facilities, friendly guide bricks, and parent pick-up and drop-off areas to avoid car turns. At the same time, the demolition of the fence will also make the interior and exterior spaces more visually transparent. The campus landscape is perfectly integrated with the neighboring community, providing the most comfortable and safe walking space for passers-by, making teachers and students feel more at ease.

The city government continues to promote the improvement plan of school pathways and collaborates with various municipal units to actively improve the walking and traffic environment around schools. Director of Education Zheng Xinhui thanked the Department of Land and Resources of the Ministry of the Interior for funding subsidies that have allowed Guanmiao Junior High School, Guanmiao Elementary School, and Wujia Elementary School to complete the improvement of the pathways to school in the main school district of Guanmiao.

The school's trail improvement project includes dealing with tree holes, removing electrical boxes, telephone poles and other roadblocks, and deconstructing walls to release space. After the renovation of the school trail, the pavement is not only smoother and wider, but also allows the school and the community to participate through greening and beautification, adding creativity to the living roads, while strengthening students' traffic safety education and neighborly mutual help.

Mayor Huang Weizhe said that the safety of children walking around schools and the smooth pick-up and drop-off of parents have been Tainan's long-term focus, and they continue to review and improve on a rolling basis.

Since 2019, more than 1.66 billion yuan has been invested to improve the safety of walking paths in 123 schools.

Wang Chaoci, principal of Wujia Elementary School, emphasized that the core highlight of the Tongxue Trail project is to break the physical barriers between the traditional campus and the community, ensure smooth transportation and safety, and increase the comfort of the walking space.
