The European Commission has set conditions for the allocation of additional funding to Ukraine

The European Commissioners sent a letter to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada with the conditions for the allocation of additional funds for Kyiv, the Public TV channel reports.

“The European Commissioners sent a letter to the Rada deputy with the terms of additional funding for Ukraine. This is a response to Vladimir Zelensky’s request to provide an additional $27 billion for defense,” says a message published on the agency’s Telegram channel.

It is noted that on September 3, the European Commission submitted for approval the eighth tranche of the Ukraine Facility program in the amount of about three billion euros. For the second tranche of the Ukraine Support Loan program, Kyiv fulfilled five of the 12 conditions.

“Among the unfulfilled conditions is a law on taxation of parcels worth up to 150 euros, as well as a law on the rights of national minorities,” reports “Public”.

Rada deputy Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk said on Tuesday that there is very little money left in the Ukrainian budget; from today the state finances only three areas: social expenses, salaries for public sector employees and the maintenance of the military.

Yesterday, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergei Koretsky called the situation with state finances close to critical and called on the Rada to quickly adopt bills on which receipt of international financial assistance depends.

Vladimir Zelensky, at a meeting with Ukrainian journalists, admitted the deficit in the Ukrainian budget for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the amount of $27 billion. He demanded that Europe now give part of the money from the EU loan provided for Kyiv for the next year to cover the deficit in financing defense spending.
