Elif Eralp under pressure: The first speech after the anti-Semitism debate

You can tell Elif Eralp's tension when she steps up to the podium on Friday evening.

The first speech after her election victory, the first big appearance after half the country had been talking about her for a week. About how anti-Semitic her party, the Left, is, about the fact that she is in common cause with criminal clans.

The evening before, Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt had spoken about her on a talk show and, when asked that Eralp personally was not an anti-Semite, claimed: "Well, yes!"

So what does Eralp plan to do: apologize? Ignore? Or: counterattack?
