Emilie Piette, president of RTE, banned from contact with the Prime Minister by the HATVP

The president of the board of directors of RTE (Electricity Transport Network), Emilie Piette, former deputy general secretary of the Élysée, cannot contact the Prime Minister nor the Minister of Energy, according to a deliberation by the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP) made public at the end of August. Seized at the request of the Élysée cabinet “for an opinion on the mobility” of the former employee of the Élysée to the head of RTE, a 100% subsidiary of EDF, the HATVP rendered its decision on March 10, 2026.

Emilie Piette does not have the right to “carry out any steps, including representation of interests” with the current Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, and “members of his cabinet and the interministerial delegation to the senior management of the State, until December 6, 2026”, according to the decision available on the body's website.
