The second round of the so-called More Innovation Brazil Economic Subsidy, a notice from the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep) will have a total of R$450 million in non-refundable resources for companies of all sizes operating in the North, Northeast and Central-West regions.

The financing will promote 114 innovative and technological risk projects with an impact on regional development and social relevance.

The R$150 million addition to the notice was announced this Friday (16) by the minister of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Luciana Santos. The initial estimated value was R$300 million.

"There is more investment reaching companies, more opportunities for researchers, more knowledge transformed into technology. And this call is not an isolated action, it is part of the transformation we are promoting", said the minister.

Among the projects initially approved, 75% are for micro-enterprises (turnovers below R$1 million) and small companies (turnovers from R$1 million to R$4.8 million).

The initial call value is distributed according to regions:

North: R$50 million;

Central-West: R$100 million;

Northeast: R$150 million.

"This subsidy call is another important step in Finep's actions to reduce asymmetries and regional development. It is an opportunity for the state to share the risk of technological development with companies", stated Luiz Antônio Elias, president of Finep.
