Minister of Energy Bayraktar Met with Mine Workers and Supported Their Rights

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar received the President of the Turkish Mine Workers Union, Nurettin Akçul, and the accompanying Doruk Mining workers at the Ministry. According to the statement made by the Ministry, Bayraktar chatted with the miners and listened to their requests.

During the meeting, Bayraktar stated that the most important issue is that workers receive the wages they deserve, and said, "Our miners do one of the most difficult jobs. We are extracting an economic asset from the ground and adding it to the economy. A very valuable, very heavy job is being done. Not being paid for this work while doing this work is never acceptable. It is not possible for us to accept such a thing. You fought a just struggle. We have always been with you, from the beginning. We have worked for the same goal, we are not the opposing party." he said.

OUR RED LINE

Reminding that they have given a purchase guarantee to power plants that produce electricity from domestic coal until the end of 2029, Bayraktar said, "With this regulation, we aim to ensure that the mines operate, that electricity is produced with the coal coming from here, that there is a reduction in Türkiye's current account deficit and that there is no disruption in the employment of workers in the mines. Our red line is that we do not give this incentive to the company that owes money to the workers. We thought about you. We made that regulation so that the workers get their rights." made his assessment.

Minister Bayraktar added that if environmentally-related investments are not made, incentives are not given to the company.
