The Competition Authority Launched an Investigation into the Allegation of Employee Transfer in the Automotive Sub-Industry Sector

The Competition Authority launched an investigation against 37 enterprises and 2 enterprise associations operating in the automotive sub-industry sector.

INVESTIGATION INTO EMPLOYEE TRANSFER

According to the serious findings obtained in the preliminary investigation, it is evaluated that the companies may have made gentlemen's agreements not to employ each other through meetings and different communication channels.

Within the scope of the investigation, it will be examined whether these agreements were made and how the practices regarding employee transfers between companies took place.

WORKING CONDITIONS WILL BE INVESTIGATED

The investigation will examine the allegation that companies may have shared information with each other not only about employee transfers, but also about wages and other working conditions.

It is stated that agreements that prevent rival companies from competing for the same employee may limit the ability of employees to change jobs, receive higher wages or move to rival companies that offer better working conditions.

In this context, it will also be investigated whether the opportunities of employees leaving a company to receive job offers from other companies in the same sector or to work under better conditions are affected.

The possibility that the employee may have had to turn to a different sector instead of moving to another company suitable for his professional experience will also be considered within the scope of the review.
