Explaining that there are 21 separate facilities in the Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform, which will be sent off to its duty in the Black Sea at the end of October, Minister Bayraktar said, "We built 11 of them completely new and renovated 10 of them. 4 of the 11 came from abroad, 7 of them were made in Türkiye. That is, 70 percent of them were made in Türkiye. Our industry in Turkey did this." he said.
7 THOUSAND PEOPLE ARE WORKING
Stating that 7 thousand people are currently working on the platform, Minister Bayraktar also stated that approximately 30 kilometers of piping and approximately 642 kilometers of cabling have been carried out. Minister Bayraktar said that Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform will continue production at the same point for 20 years.
IT HAS REALIZED THE REVERSE BRAIN DRAIN
Pointing out that the human resources in the field of energy have become localized, Minister Bayraktar said, "There used to be foreign captains or drilling personnel here. This number reached over 70 percent. An important human resource of Türkiye working in this field had gone abroad. Most of them were working outside. Those working abroad said, 'There is such a big operation in Türkiye.' Therefore, we have realized a reverse brain drain from the outside." he said.
NEW PLATFORM WILL COME TO TURKEY AT THE END OF 2027
Pointing out that they will commission a new floating production platform in the third phase of production, Minister Bayraktar said, "We will complete the third phase with it and quadruple our production. Its name is not known at the moment. Its production is currently continuing. Our goal is to bring it to Türkiye from abroad around the end of 2027 and put it into production in 2028." made the statement.
Türkiye IS A SAFE HARBOR UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF OUR PRESIDENT
Stating that the world is experiencing a major global energy crisis, Minister Bayraktar said, "At a time when we are surrounded by a ring of fire, Turkey is a safe haven under the leadership of our President. We strive to protect our country from this ring of fire. Despite the problems related to energy, we have never experienced any problems in terms of supply security in our country. We have gas, electricity, oil, fuel; we have everything, but we need to know that it is a very difficult process and the crisis is getting deeper every day." he said.
HAVING YOUR OWN ENERGY HAS BECOME VERY PRECIOUS
Stating that the Babülmendep Strait was added after the Strait of Hormuz crisis, Minister Bayraktar said, "The job is becoming more difficult day by day. TARGET IS 1 MILLION BARRELS PER DAY
Minister Bayraktar said, "Turkish Petroleum will hopefully be a company that will produce 1 million barrels of oil and natural gas per day. Today, this figure is 350 thousand barrels inside and outside Turkey. We will take this figure to 550-600 thousand barrels in 2028 and then to the target of 1 million barrels per day. Our ultimate goal is; Turkey will be a self-sufficient country in oil and natural gas with its foreign operations and production within Turkey." made the statement.
SUPPORT FOR NATURAL GAS HAS INCREASED
Pointing out that the support in energy bills has increased with the increasing energy costs at the global level, Minister Bayraktar said, "Turkey supplies its natural gas from different sources at different prices, but we reflect this to our citizens at a minimum level. For example, we have never reflected the price increases. The support for natural gas, which was around 50 percent, has actually increased slightly now with these increasing costs." he said.
250 BILLION LIRAS OF TAX WAIVED WITH EŞEL MOBILE
Minister Bayraktar stated that following the events that started in Iran on February 28, the tax was waived in order not to reflect the increase in fuel prices to the citizens through the Eşel Mobile System, upon the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and said, "Do you know how much the financial equivalent is? 250 billion TL. We are pursuing how we can reflect these costs to our citizens in the least way, with all the means and capabilities of our state." he said.
NEW ENERGY ARCHITECTURE
Explaining that they are currently working on a new energy architecture, Minister Bayraktar said, "We will announce this new energy architecture before COP31, around the end of October or the beginning of November. We are working on a comprehensive program there that will cover Türkiye's 2040 targets; from electricity to natural gas, from natural gas to oil and renewable energy." he said.
