What we are seeing every day is greater social tension due to the feeling of abandonment of the entire people of Ceuta by the Government of Spain. To this day we still don't know how many people have entered or how many have left, or who has entered... we don't know anything and the exhaustion, both mental and physical, that all of us from Ceuta are suffering is enormous. The city is completely bankrupt: two out of every four small business jobs are being lost, many self-employed workers are being forced to close and, if aid does not arrive soon, the City Council no longer has any more money.
The situation is not that it has improved, but that it has worsened because many of the people who entered Ceuta illegally arrived with money in the city, but a month later they have already run out and that is giving rise to almost daily robberies and also rapes. And I'm not saying it, the attorney general of Ceuta says it. If before there were five or six trials a week for robbery or petty theft, now there are around 30 or 40 and there are multiple immigration arrests. There have been robberies in homes and robberies of citizens with knives, in addition to many damages. We are experiencing a situation of total insecurity, with attacks on State security forces and bodies and attacks against the army. It's a real disaster.
There are at least 12,000 and 15,000 people left here, double or triple what the Government says. In fact, in the last week I can tell you that we have seen more immigrants than the previous one because there were many who were hiding in the forests and who are now coming down to the city. And it is a complete lie that Morocco is collaborating in the returns. The few people who are leaving do so in dribs and drabs, two or three a day, and are leaving voluntarily when they run out of money.
We believe not and that the school year should be delayed, since there is no normality in the city. The necessary safety and health measures are not met to ensure the protection of the most valuable thing we have as a society, which is our children. It is neither fair nor logical to put them in danger. In theory the schools are free, but the Police have to enter different schools almost daily to expel immigrants who sneak in at night and cause damage. Furthermore, many children from 8 to 12 years old in the peripheral neighborhoods went to school alone on public transport, but who is going to leave their child alone with the insecurity we have now? Nor is it acceptable that a child has to go to school surrounded by soldiers, as the Secretary of State intends, whom I invite to send his children to school in Ceuta. I am also the father of an 8-year-old girl and I am not going to take her to school until there are minimum safety conditions.
He shouldn't have gone on vacation in the first place. And secondly, I should call a spade a spade and say that what we have suffered in Ceuta has been an invasion by Morocco and, therefore, an invasion of Spanish territory. This is not a migratory crisis, as Mr. Pedro Sánchez says, but rather an invasion orchestrated by Morocco, as supported by police reports.
You have the right to be on vacation, like any citizen. But I also had my vacation scheduled for August 1 and I canceled it, as it could not be otherwise for a public official. Although I have no powers, I am from Ceuta, I am a mackerel, and I canceled my vacations just as those of all the military, civil guards, police and officials who have been keeping quiet here since the first hour of the invasion have been suspended. If all officials' vacations are suspended, the president has to lead by example. It seems to me to be a lack of respect and a joke that the person in charge has not been at the forefront of defending the people of Ceuta and the territorial integrity of Spain against an invasion of this magnitude.
No, we don't want him to come to Ceuta to take a photo or to lie to our faces, as he did on the first day when he told us that it was an attack on the territorial integrity of Spain and 24 hours later he published a Spotify list with his recommended summer songs and went on vacation. We want him to come to Ceuta if he is going to bring solutions, to call a spade a spade and to say that this is an invasion by Morocco. Any socialist, democrat and left-wing person has to be with the people, with the people who elected them and fight for the dignity of those people. I have worked from minute 1 to recover normality in Ceuta and I will continue doing so. If they want to see me on the street at the game, go ahead, I'm not afraid. But I want to remember that this is the Socialist Party, not the Sanchista party, and that the PSOE is much stronger than Pedro Sánchez.
They all have to be returned because they have entered illegally, violating our border. In Ceuta we have asked for it from the first moment and the Government has lied to us again because all the ministers who came here, to take a walk around the city, said repeatedly that they would all be returned to Morocco and now they say the opposite.
They should not be relocated because all the people who entered illegally have to be returned to Morocco through the same place they arrived, which is along the Tarajal border. If we transfer people who entered Ceuta illegally, violating our borders, we would be creating a knock-on effect that we cannot allow. It would be a big mistake on the part of the Government because it would be opening the door to new invasions from Morocco.
It is something that we do not understand, but the president is lying because the Police reports make it very clear. Even Morocco has made it clear when, after the assault on the border, its ministers have repeatedly said that Ceuta and Melilla are Moroccan. All of us who live here know the way Morocco acts, we know that it is an authoritarian country and that King Mohamed VI is a dictator. We know that if the Moroccan government wanted, not a single person would go to Ceuta. I cannot find any explanation for the Government's position exonerating it of this invasion. What fear is there in breaking relations with Morocco? We are Spain, we are a power and we have to defend our border and our dignity as a country, we do not have to be afraid of it.
That Mr. Marlasca is the main person responsible for everything we are suffering because we are aware that, as Minister of the Interior, he had that report on his table, just like the Government delegate in Ceuta. These two people are the most guilty of allowing a third country such as Morocco to invade our territory. Marlaska should have resigned from minute 1.
We knew that an increase in migratory pressure was occurring because almost 200 or 300 people a day were arriving on our shores, evidently, with the permissiveness of Morocco. Those days I was in permanent contact with the president of the autonomous city, Mr. Juan Jesús Vivas, and I know that he called Moncloa up to three times, but the President of the Government never picked up the phone. The president of Ceuta warned of what was happening and asked for police reinforcements, but the State never acted.
First of all, I want to say that the Minister of Health, Ms. Mónica García, is a scoundrel because she came to Ceuta to call all of us Ceutíes xenophobic when we are an example of coexistence between cultures worldwide. And when the minister says that there is no health collapse, she is lying because operations, medical consultations and tests have been suspended here. The professionals from the College of Physicians and the College of Nursing of Ceuta have said it. And what the Government has done is open files on all those people who have publicly denounced it. The reality is that most immigrants are still on the streets and relieve themselves anywhere. The health issue is alarming and doctors have reported that it can cause a serious health crisis. We do not understand how, after a month, the Government is not able to set up a camp to settle all the people who entered illegally, without them being able to leave freely through the city so that we can recover a bit of normality.
