A court has ordered provisional imprisonment for the 18-year-old young man of Swedish nationality detained by the National Police as the alleged perpetrator of the shooting death of a plastic surgeon in Marbella (Málaga) last Wednesday in his clinic.
The Investigative Court number 1 of Marbella, acting as guard, has agreed to place him in provisional prison, communicated and without bail, as reported by judicial sources, who have specified that the case continues under summary secrecy.
Investigators continue with the investigation to determine the circumstances of the crime and the main hypothesis that the Police are considering is that the murder occurred after a disagreement with a client.
The National Police, in charge of the investigation, considers that the detainee was the material author of the crime but that he allegedly acted on behalf and is investigating whether he had the help of third parties to commit the murder.
The arrest of the alleged hitman, who does not reside in Malaga, occurred less than 24 hours after the crime was committed and now the Police are working to determine if he was helped by third parties as well as who placed the order, sources in the investigation have indicated.
Regarding the task of "executing" the surgeon, the Police are considering two main ideas, among which are the discontent of someone after an intervention or someone who had some disagreement prior to the possible operation.
The agents do not rule out arrests in the next few hours but have insisted that different cases must be analyzed and tracked since the doctor, a specialist in buttock surgery, had received complaints from certain people about his work.
Another hypothesis that is not closed by the investigators is whether the person who hired the hitman was a man or a woman, but they have recognized that the investigation is progressing well, since there are identified patients whose movements are being tracked in the hours before the crime.
Investigators warn that younger hitmen are increasingly being used, who do not live in Spain and stay in tourist apartments with the promise of easy money. They are also usually cheaper for not having experience.
In this case, the young man arrested for the crime of the surgeon was only 18 years old and stayed in a tourist apartment located in Benalmádena (Málaga), far from the place where the events occurred and when he was arrested he was already preparing his escape.
The doctor was murdered this Wednesday after being shot several times in the head when he was at the plastic surgery clinic where he worked and which he had founded in 2018.
The investigation had previously ruled out that the murder of the surgeon, 57 years old and of German origin, was related to organized crime.
The internationally recognized specialist in aesthetic operations had a wide portfolio of clients from different parts of the world, so it is being investigated whether any of them could be linked to illicit businesses.
The event occurred this Wednesday shortly before 6:00 p.m. at the Cirumed clinic, located in the Panorama building, in the Río Real area, when the attacker entered the facilities and shot the surgeon.
The shooter, an individual dressed in black, had his face covered, helmet and hood, and had arrived at the clinic on a motorcycle.
After parking the vehicle on the sidewalk in front of the facilities, he went to the office where the doctor was, since he had had several operations this Wednesday, and shot him in the head several times.
