While President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the fund crisis does not pose a risk to the financial system and economy, he made the assessment, "What is necessary is being done and will be done. Whoever is responsible will be held accountable before the law." Emphasizing the UN reform, Erdoğan emphasized the possibility that if the world had listened when he raised the issue, lives would not have been lost in Gaza and even wars could have been prevented.
"DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD ARE BEING CLOSELY FOLLOWED"
Pointing out that Türkiye will close the book on "Terrorism-Free Türkiye", Erdoğan said that if the developments in the field are followed closely, "the result will be reached in the not too distant future". Emphasizing that the PKK's presence in Iraq will end, Erdoğan said, "We no longer want to talk about terrorism with Iraq, but about the Path of Development and prosperity." FUNDING CRISIS: I would like this to be known: Anyone who is responsible will be held accountable before the law. In addition, we will ensure that whatever measures are needed, including legal and administrative regulations, are implemented to prevent a similar problem from occurring again.
TERRORISM-FREE Türkiye: The process is progressing step by step under the control of our relevant units. Our Parliament will also contribute to the process within the framework defined in the law and Türkiye will hopefully close the book on terrorism in unity and solidarity. In short, there is no problem that affects us. The process is progressing and hopefully we will reach the result in the not too distant time.
PKK PRESENCE IN IRAQ: Today, we consulted with the Iraqi authorities on how to control the region after it is cleared of terrorism. We also discussed the issue of Bashika's transfer. We no longer want to talk about terrorism issues with our neighbor Iraq, but rather the Development Path, increasing our mutual trade volume, stability, peace and prosperity. The process is progressing positively. We have gained good momentum. Hopefully the result will be good.
"THE VETO MECHANISM IN THE UN SHOULD BE REMOVED"
REFORM IN THE UN: The issue is not just for Türkiye to have more say, it is a matter of equitably representing Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Islamic world, Europe and all other regions in this global system with their own experiences and their own will. For this reason we say; The veto mechanism should be abolished; Let's transition from the UN model, which protects only 5 members, to a mechanism that encompasses all members. In the new structure to be established, there should be a more fair system in which elected members serve for certain periods of time and those who want to take office again must regain the trust of the international community. All members, not 5 members, should offer solutions to the world's problems and make decisions. Because the world no longer needs new walls, but new bridges.
PALESTINE PROBLEM: This journey consists of standing tall. Many issues in our region grew with the wrong steps taken in those days, and the sparks turned into fire. If the world had listened to what we said in those days and precautions had been taken, so many lives would not have been lost. If the United Nations reform had been carried out in those years, it would have been easy to prevent conflicts and wars in our region and the world today. The fact that the President of Palestine, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, cannot be present at the United Nations for two consecutive years is a picture that shows how deep the injustice in the international system has become. Our issue is not to be against any country. Our point is to be against injustice. We are happy for ourselves that from those days until today, we have always stood on the right side of history and have not taken even a single step that would embarrass our nation. Today the world tends to come to where we said it would be in the first day.
ISRAEL IS UNDERMINING PEACE: Permanent peace will not come to the Middle East without stopping the bloodshed in Gaza, making the ceasefire permanent and ensuring that Palestinians have an honorable future in their own land. For permanent peace, tranquility and stability in Gaza, almost everyone, including Hamas, has taken positive steps and expressed their desire for a solution. But Israel continues its aggression and undermines peace.
THE FATE OF F-35s: We also discussed this issue with Mr. Trump at NATO. He demonstrated a positive will regarding Türkiye's return to the F-35 program. We expect this will to turn into concrete steps. We continue our contacts on this issue.
MECCA ALLIANCE: I have no doubt that we will progress stronger on our path with the completion of institutionalization studies. We have all seen together that those who come from outside and prescribe security for our region often leave more instability behind. This sapling we planted will grow taller in a short time and turn into a plane tree. We trust our country and our nation, we trust our brothers.
THE STRAIT OF HORmuz SHOULD BE OPENED
We are against the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to ship traffic. It is essential to protect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Because every tension in the Strait of Hormuz directly affects not only the countries in the region, but also Europe, Asia, energy markets, transportation and the daily lives of millions of people. It is vital for global energy security and international trade. Hormuz should be opened as the key to solving problems through dialogue and negotiation. What needs to be done is not to open new fronts, but to open new diplomacy channels.
WE ARE WORKING FOR THE GRAIN CORRIDOR
The Black Sea is not a front of this war, it should never be. We explain in detail the need to restore navigation safety in our meetings with the parties. This will have two benefits, ensuring food security and preventing the spread of war. We have clearly declared that we do not accept attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea, no matter who does it, and that we expect the parties to act responsibly. We have now increased our efforts to re-establish the grain corridor. For this reason, we are also accelerating our diplomatic steps. I discussed the issue with Ukrainian President Zelensky once again and the answer I received from him was positive.
