Life imprisonment for Salvatore Ocone: convicted of the double murder of his wife and son in Paupisi

Salvatore Ocone, the man accused of killing his wife and son in Paupisi, in the province of Benevento, was sentenced to life imprisonment. The sentence comes exactly one year after the crime, which occurred on 30 September 2025: the man, 59 years old, killed his wife Elisa, 49 years old, and their 15-year-old son Cosimo with a large stone, also seriously injuring his other 17-year-old daughter. The judges, with the life sentence, accepted the request of the public prosecutor of Benevento, Nicola D'Angelo.

The crime

The man, arrested the night after the murders, immediately confessed and was transferred to Campobasso prison on charges of aggravated double murder, attempted murder and kidnapping. According to the reconstruction, Ocone first killed his wife at home by hitting her on the head with a large stone. At a later moment he attacked his children, then dragged their bodies into the car with which he attempted a brief escape: he was tracked down the following day 70 km away from Paupisi, hidden in an olive grove in Ferrazzano, in the nearby province of Campobasso. Upon their arrival, the police found the two minors in the car: the boy was already dead while his daughter, 16 at the time, suffered a skull fracture and was in very serious condition.
