Bomb Squad collects suspicious artifact in Santo Antônio de Pádua

The Bomb Squad of the Special Resources Coordination (Core) was called, this Tuesday (8), to collect material with characteristics of a homemade explosive device, found in the Mirante neighborhood, in Santo Antônio de Pádua, in the Northwest of Fluminense.

According to the Military Police, the object was hidden inside a bag of food in a vegetation area. Teams from the 36th BPM went to the location after receiving information about the possible presence of illicit material.

During the search, agents located a container with an approximate capacity of five liters.

After locating the object, the case was forwarded to the Civil Police, who called the Bomb Squad of the Special Resources Coordination (Core) and collected the material.

According to the Civil Police, an investigation will be launched and the content will undergo analysis to confirm the composition and characteristics.

The hypothesis of theft or diversion of explosives and other materials used in quarries in the region has not been ruled out, according to the Civil Police.
