A new expert report has been entered into the case file regarding the suspicious death of 12-year-old Eyüp Can Güner, who fell to his death suspiciously from the passage near the döner shop where he worked as an apprentice in Mersin's Anamur district and had cuts on his body.
In the expert report prepared after the discovery made at the scene, it was evaluated that "Eyüp Can Güner's fall from a height of 4 meters from the ground floor of the business center, with his back towards the interior of the building, with an initial speed of 2.8 m / s, could only have been possible with the pressure he received from the front on the upper part of his body."
In the report, it was stated that the sound that the defendant Necmettin Ulaş said he heard clicking when he was looking for Güner in the business center could not be the sound of falling, and that the 50-kilogram Güner falling from 4 meters onto the concrete floor is not the size of a click, but rather loud, between 90-100 dB (like the sound of a motorcycle or lawn mower, a drill breaker).
Lawyer Ayça Kara Sığırcı, lawyer of Eyüp Can Güner's mother Güllü Can and UCİM Türkiye Legal Coordinator, evaluated the expert report.
"THE REPORT GIVES DATA THAT HE WAS THROWN FROM THERE BY APPLICATION OF PRESSURE"
Sığırcı said, "In this expert report, a technical examination was carried out regarding the fact that Eyüp Can, who was claimed to have fallen, was found two meters away from where he allegedly fell. As a result of this examination, data was entered into the file stating that Eyüp Can was actually killed by pressure applied to his frontal area, that is, by being pushed."
Reminding that the scene of the crime was very dark from the very beginning of the trial and that the defendant had not had the slightest contact with Güner, victim lawyer Sığırcı said:
"In fact, from the very beginning, we have repeatedly stated that the way Eyüp Can was found was not suitable for this, and that this would not be possible after the discovery made a few months after the crime scene investigation. The latest report actually gives data from the very beginning that Eyüp Can himself did not fall from that area and that he was somehow pushed and thrown out of the place by applying pressure. While this case file was opened for causing death by negligence, it has now brought the element of intent before us and of course the court. Why is this important? "In fact, it is very important in that it is not a case of causing death through negligence, but a case of intentional murder, and it turns into this."
Sığırcı continued:
"All parties were given time until the next hearing to make a statement regarding this expert report. We will also make a statement to this report, and this data is important for the file to become a deliberate murder file. We have tried not to leave Eyüp Can and his family alone from the very beginning of the process. From now on, we will definitely follow the process, at least until justice is provided for Eyüp Can, and we will do our best to ensure that the defendant receives the punishment he deserves."
WHAT HAPPENED?
12-year-old Eyüp Can Güner, who worked in a döner restaurant in Anamur, was chased by Ulaş after an argument with the döner master Necmettin Ulaş, who came to his workplace on July 28, 2025. After a while, Güner, who was found having fallen from the passage near his workplace, lost his life. The security camera footage that emerged after the incident showed the moments when Güner ran away from Ulaş, who was chasing him on the street, before he died. After various cuts were detected on Güner's body, an investigation was initiated and a lawsuit was filed. In the indictment, the suspect was requested to be punished for "intentional murder through negligent behavior".
