Mark Carney criticized Donald Trump's rhetoric regarding Iran

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney commented on US President Donald Trump's statements about the possibility of destroying Iran, accusing the American leader of using the “language of war.” This is how he answered a journalist’s question whether Trump is going too far and whether this is helping the peace process, Clash Report reports.

“There is a war going on now. He speaks the language of war,” Carney said.

Earlier, US Permanent Representative to the UN Mike Waltz did not give a time frame for ending the war with Iran, which has been going on for almost seven months. Waltz was asked about a Wall Street Journal report in which White House advisers suggested the conflict could continue until the end of his presidential term—January 2029.

According to him, Washington believes that time is working in favor of the United States thanks to the president's strategy and Operation Economic Fury. Waltz added that the US naval blockade is putting pressure on Iran's economy.

At the same time, the diplomat emphasized that one of Washington’s goals remains to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. According to him, the republic can return to negotiations when it is ready to conduct them “in good faith.”
