Kaohsiung Creative Raft-Building Competition Concludes, "Immerse yourself in Love in Nigeria" and win the championship

The Kaohsiung Creative Raft-Building Competition was launched yesterday (12th) in the waters surrounding the Dagang Bridge. This year’s theme was Kaohsiung’s food, products and local characteristics. Nearly 70 groups signed up to compete for a prize of NT$100,000. People used their creativity to build interesting rafts. In the end, the "immersive experience of love to Nigeria" was based on the raft-building idea of connecting the Love River to the Nile River in Egypt, and won the first prize with its exquisite shape and stable structure.

The Kaohsiung Creative Raft Building Competition enters its 4th year this year. It started with environmental protection. In the past two years, it has been upgraded to an environment-friendly and creative raft competition. It not only compares creativity, environmental protection, but also speed. Many rafts have eye-catching shapes, but they will disintegrate or capsize in the water, adding interest to the event. There are also rafts whose appearance and speed are amazing.

Kaohsiung City Transportation and Development Director Hou Chun-yao said that creative raft building has "limited resources but endless creativity." Through the use of creativity, it can float, row quickly, and have a beautiful shape. Especially this year, 10 groups of craftsmen have been specially set up among the 70 groups, hoping to enhance everyone's creativity through excellent works.

The creative raft-building competition lasts for two days. The event starts at 2 pm today. There are also water safety education Kahoot quiz competitions, small ship models, SUP and raft tying experiences on site, allowing the public to understand water sports from various aspects such as shipbuilding practice and water safety knowledge. In addition, this competition has a comprehensive achievement award and a popularity award, which are awarded to "Immersive Experience in Love in Ni" and "Money in Kaohsiung" respectively.
