80% of applicants find educational programs in the macroregion.

A third of the apartments built under the rental housing program are already occupied by young professionals and their families.

MOSCOW, September 13 - RIA Novosti. The outflow of applicants from the Far East has halved over five years; today 80% of applicants find educational programs in the macroregion, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Eastern Development Elvira Nurgalieva said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the deputy minister, the main set of measures to attract applicants to the Far East is based on the development of the education system - leading universities in the Far Eastern Federal District are aiming at this, changing the content of their programs in conjunction with employers in the Far East and, among other things, increasing migration rates.

“During the implementation of the Priority 2030 program over the past five years, the share of outflow of applicants leaving the Far East has halved. That is, if earlier 40% of Far Eastern applicants chose universities outside the Far East, today only 20% leave, and this is a normal share. That is, 80% of applicants find programs for themselves here in the Far East East,” Nurgalieva told the agency.

She noted that a chain of preferential mortgages and other support measures, including a rental housing program, is starting to work for young professionals.
