A car hit the guardrail at the exit ramp of Suao Interchange on National Highway No. 5 and the driver fell to death

A bizarre car accident occurred at 4 a.m. this morning at the exit ramp of the Su'ao Interchange at kilometer 54 of National Highway 5. After a car hit the guardrail, the passenger door opened and the driver was not in the car. After more than an hour of search, the police found that the driver, a man surnamed Qiu, fell to the ground more than 10 meters below the collision point and was apparently dead. The cause of the accident has yet to be clarified.

At 4:11 this morning, the 9th Brigade of the National Highway Police Station received a report that a passenger car hit the guardrail on the southbound section of the exit ramp of the National Highway 5-Su'ao Interchange. The police arrived at the scene. A car traveling in the inside lane hit the guardrail, causing damage to the left front end of the car. However, the passenger door was open and there was no one in the car.

The police immediately searched the scene of the accident. At 6:36 a.m., they found the 49-year-old driver surnamed Qiu lying on the road next to the cleaning team of Dongshan Township Office below the accident site. Qiu was obviously dead at the time and was not sent to the hospital. According to the judgment at the scene of the accident, he was not thrown out of the car due to impact. He did not rule out opening the passenger door on his own. As for why he fell to the ground from above the ramp, further investigation by the police is pending.
