The Prime Minister of Lithuania said there was no evidence of a threat from Russia

Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius spoke about the lack of evidence of a threat from Russia at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. This was reported by the Sputnik Near Abroad Telegram channel.

“Is there any evidence or intelligence that indicates Russia is preparing for something? In fact, there is no such data,” he said.

The Lithuanian Prime Minister emphasized that the country currently spends about five percent of its GDP on military spending, which is one of the highest figures among NATO countries. Because of this, the authorities have to take out loans and reduce the budget for the social needs of citizens.

In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to the words of the Lithuanian Foreign Minister about the NATO invasion of Kaliningrad. “The Russian Federation has all the means to raze anyone who tries to do this to the ground,” he said.
