MOSCOW, September 25 - RIA Novosti. Russia and Vietnam signed a memorandum on expanding air transportation; airlines of the two countries will be able to operate 105 flights per week for each side, the Russian Ministry of Transport reports.

“Russia and Vietnam are expanding opportunities for air carriers. The corresponding memorandum was signed in Hanoi following negotiations between the aviation authorities of the two countries... According to the document, air carriers of Russia and Vietnam can operate 105 flights per week for each of the parties,” the department said in a statement.

It is clarified that Russian airlines currently operate flights to Vietnam on 11 routes with a frequency of 39 flights per week, and on the Vietnamese side, transportation is carried out on 13 routes with a frequency of 31 flights per week.

As the ministry added, work to increase the frequency of flights is being carried out following a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vietnamese President To Lam.

“The parties will continue cooperation in this direction. The plans are to expand the geography of flights to Vietnam, including from Kazan, Barnaul, Novokuznetsk and Blagoveshchensk,” the department concluded.
