The Investigative Committee (IC) opened a criminal case after a fatal accident with a bus and a truck in the Stavropol Territory. The TASS agency reported this with reference to the department.

“The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Stavropol Territory are investigating a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence”),” said a representative of the Investigative Committee.

In addition, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered the head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Stavropol Territory, Alexander Perepelitsyn, to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case and the clarified circumstances.

On the night of Sunday, August 30, on the 3rd kilometer of the Caucasus federal highway, the driver of a Setra bus traveling from Georgia to Moscow did not calculate the safe speed and distance to a KamAZ truck moving ahead and collided with it, after which the bus slid into a ditch.
