The Taoyuan City Council passed the "Taoyuan City Autonomy Ordinance for the Development and Management of Affordable Housing" in the third reading last week. Taoyuan Mayor Zhang Shanzheng attended the Executive Yuan meeting today to seek for relevant ministries to understand the background. He hopes to provide the city with guidance during the review process and support the smooth passage of the autonomous ordinance, because young people are looking forward to being able to buy a house with their own salary instead of relying on the previous generation.

Zhang Shanzheng was interviewed this afternoon after the "Taoyuan City Founding Award" event and said that during the planning of the Affordable Housing Autonomy Ordinance, the outside world was very concerned about it, and many young people said on the Internet in a very expectant tone that they hoped that they could soon buy a house with their own salary, instead of relying on the previous generation. They either wanted to speculate on houses or buy a house that they felt was good to live in.

Zhang Shanzheng said that in the future, when the Executive Yuan is reviewing the matter, in addition to the Ministry of the Interior, which is in charge of housing, it will also involve the ministries related to loans and finance, and the Ministry of Justice, which is involved in the rights and interests of purchasers. Therefore, several ministries will be involved. Since the autonomy regulations have just been sent to the Executive Yuan, they should explain it to the Executive Yuan, ask the relevant ministries to understand the background, and then try their best to provide guidance to the city during the review process.

Zhang mentioned that he felt that the atmosphere of the council meeting was very good. Both the Ministry of Interior and the political committee members who would preside over the review in the future expressed that they would be professional and try to see if there were any improvements that needed to be made. The city government would also humbly accept the opinions raised during the review process and allow the autonomy regulations to be passed as soon as possible, because many developers have already included affordable housing when planning buildings.
