Rescuers have resumed the search for two climbers with whom contact was lost in the mountains of the Chereksky region of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Climbers from Nizhny Novgorod and Tolyatti followed a difficult route on Mount Dykhtau; they were supposed to return by Tuesday, but contact with them could not be established.

NALCHIK, September 23 - RIA Novosti. Rescuers on Wednesday morning resumed the search for two climbers who had stopped communicating in the mountains in the Chereksky region of Kabardino-Balkaria, the republican headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

On Monday, the department reported that on September 20, information was received from the Bezengi alpine camp about the loss of contact with two climbers on Mount Dykhtau. For two days, searches, including the use of a helicopter, did not bring any results.

“Search and rescue operations in the Chereksky district have been resumed,” the message says.
