FDJ United is organizing a special Loto to save the Fontainebleau forest

FDJ United (formerly Française des Jeux) comes to the aid of the Fontainebleau forest, ravaged this summer by fires. A special Loto draw will be organized this Wednesday, September 23, dedicated to the restoration of this immense forest massif of more than 22,000 hectares, located in the south of Paris. It “will make it possible to contribute to the reconstruction of this jewel of French natural heritage, one of the first protected natural sites in the history of our country, since 1861,” indicates FDJ United in a press release.

As a reminder, some 2,000 hectares of forest were ravaged by flames between last July and August. The national lottery operator explains that “the funds collected by the Heritage Foundation during this draw […] will be entirely allocated to restoration projects carried out by the National Forestry Office, manager of the Fontainebleau national forest, and will complement the emergency collection launched by the Heritage Foundation last July”. This collection has already raised nearly 1.34 million euros.

Three other special draws organized in October

In detail, for each 2.20 euro Loto grid played, 54 euro cents (i.e. 24.5%) will be directly donated to the Heritage Foundation. “An amount corresponding to the share usually taken by the State from stakes,” specifies FDJ United. In form, it will be a classic draw, always with five numbers to choose from among 49 and a “Chance number” among ten. The jackpot at stake will amount to 4 million euros.
