Kaohsiung man surnamed Liu (44 years old) was suspected of drug-driving. He ran a red light at an intersection while riding an electric-assisted bicycle. When the police found out, they immediately stopped the suspect for questioning and unexpectedly found drugs. A saliva drug test showed positive for drugs. Suspect Liu was arrested on the spot and sent to court in accordance with the law.

The Gushan Branch pointed out today (28th) that when police from the Longhua Station were patrolling Cuihua Road the day before yesterday, they discovered that a man surnamed Liu (44 years old) was riding an electric-assisted bicycle and ran a red light at the intersection. The police stopped Suspect Liu for interrogation. Unexpectedly, they accidentally found drugs. After a saliva drug test was performed and the drug was positive, Suspect Liu was arrested and sent to court in accordance with the law.

It is understood that when Suspect Liu was stopped by the police, he first told him that he was in poor mental condition and that he was about to fall asleep while riding. The police found that his body smelled like drugs, and they determined that he might be driving under the influence of drugs. Upon seeing this, Suspect Liu repeatedly begged the police to let him go and give him another chance to give him time to detoxify.

The police noticed something was wrong, and indeed found drugs and other evidence on Suspect Liu. After conducting a saliva drug test, the result was positive for amphetamines, and the entire case was transferred to police for investigation.
