In recent years, there have been a series of white-brand taxis refusing inspection at Taoyuan Airport, and more and more passengers are accustomed to calling taxis through APPs. The Ministry of Transportation recently revised the law and added the source basis for the trial method of reserved taxis. The Civil Aviation Administration of the Ministry of Transportation said that Kaohsiung Airport will trial the appointment of taxis to carry passengers starting tomorrow (25th). A total of 8 operators will participate and plan exclusive boarding areas. During the trial period, various links will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Kaohsiung Airport announced yesterday (23rd) that it will implement the "Kaohsiung Airport Reservation Taxi Pilot Program" starting from June 25, opening up eight qualified taxi operators to carry passengers online and make reservations for pick-up and drop-off in designated areas on a "taxi-waiting" basis. Passengers can choose to take the taxi according to their needs after arriving at Kaohsiung Airport.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China stated that in recent years, there has been an increasing demand for passengers to use online platforms to reserve taxi services. In order to take into account passenger convenience, the diversified development of transportation services, and maintain the order of airport operations, the Ministry of Transportation promulgated amendments to the "Civil Aviation Airport Passenger Vehicle Management Measures" on May 15 this year, and added the source basis for the trial method of taxi reservation.
The Civil Aviation Administration pointed out that during the legalization process, Kaohsiung International Airport has been actively preparing for the trial operation. After long-term efforts and continuous communication with all parties, it has laid a foundation for the trial operation. A total of 8 operators participated in this trial. Kaohsiung Station has published the qualified list on the official website and has also instructed Kaohsiung Station to plan a dedicated taxi pick-up area during the trial period, and clearly mark the moving routes to effectively separate them from the existing scheduled taxis and rental cars, so as to guide passengers to smoothly go to the pick-up area after entering the country.
In order to protect the rights and interests of passengers, the Civil Aviation Administration also reminds passengers to check vehicle, driving and other information before taking a ride, and follow the guidance of on-site personnel to avoid taking unapproved vehicles. If you do not reserve a vehicle in advance, there are scheduled taxi services on site. Especially during off-peak hours, passengers can also choose to take a scheduled taxi nearby. During the trial period, both the Civil Aviation Administration and Kaohsiung Station will review various aspects on a rolling basis and use the accumulated experience from the trial as a basis for improving services in the future.
