Simona Scinà family presents opposition to the dismissal: press conference tomorrow

The Ingroia law firm has presented the opposition to the dismissal requested by the Termini Imerse Prosecutor's Office of the investigation into the death of the young volleyball player Simona Scinà who died in a swimming pool in Bagheria, in the Palermo area, on the night between 1 and 2 August 2025 while a graduation party was underway. According to magistrates, the death was an accident. And in support of this thesis they cite the absolute lack of injuries and that the girl had a high alcohol level.

Simona Cinà's family have always contested the reconstruction that she may have drowned. And now comes, through their lawyers, the opposition to the request for dismissal. To "illustrate the aspects of fundamental importance regarding the reconstruction of the truth about the case", Studio Ingroia has called a press conference for tomorrow at 4pm in via Marchese di Villabianca 209.

The meeting will be attended by the lawyers Antonio Ingroia and Paolo Ingroia, members of the defense team, and the family members of Simona Cinà, who "want to express all their bitterness for the failure to ascertain the truth about their daughter's death more than a year after a tragedy that could have been avoided and who do not intend to resign themselves to a cold and absurd dismissal of the case without the identification of any responsibility".

According to the Termini Imerese Prosecutor's Office, the theory of murder does not hold up also because it would have been impossible for the more than 30 people present at the party not to notice a fight.
