Arrested in Vigo for alleged murder of his octogenarian mother in Ponteareas

A man was arrested this Sunday for allegedly killing his octogenarian mother in the municipality of Ponteareas (Pontevedra). His arrest took place at the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital in Vigo, where, after being treated, he confessed to the crime.

The events occurred in a house located in the heart of the town, on Rúa dos Carballos.

Once the alleged perpetrator confessed to having killed his mother, members of the Civil Guard, who are investigating the event, traveled to the scene, where they located the woman's body at two-thirty in the afternoon this Sunday.

According to Faro de Vigo, everything seems to indicate that the victim's throat was slit with a knife.

However, an autopsy will be performed on the woman's body, which had serious injuries, sources from the investigation have indicated.
