Recently, a new type of "Silver Fox" Trojan virus has appeared in cyberspace. This type of "Silver Fox" Trojan virus is highly disguised and specifically targets employees of enterprises and institutions, especially financial personnel, to carry out precise attacks. It can remotely control computers, steal account passwords, intercept SMS verification codes, steal private data and other illegal operations, seriously infringing the safety of people's property and disrupting normal network order.
The cyber security department of the public security organ took the initiative and successfully detected a series of "Silver Fox" Trojan cybercrime cases, resolutely cracking down on the arrogance of this new type of cyber-related crimes and protecting the security of cyberspace.
Case 1
Jilin Public Security Network Security Department detected the case of Chen and others creating the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus
The Jilin Public Security Network Security Department found out that a criminal gang headed by Chen developed a variant of the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus, used technical means to resist security detection, sent phishing emails in batches, stole corporate data, and set up fraud scenes to commit crimes, involving more than 7 million yuan.
At present, the local public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against 27 suspects including Chen.
Case 2
The Public Security and Cybersecurity Department of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province detected the case of Ji Moufei and others creating and selling the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus
The Hangzhou Public Security Bureau in Zhejiang Province found out that a criminal gang headed by Ji Moufei produced and sold the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus, illegally controlled other people's computer information systems, and stole network assets. The amount involved was more than 3 million yuan.
At present, the local public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against Ji Moufei and other five suspects in accordance with the law.
Case 3
The Shandong Public Security Network Security Department detected the case of Yang and others illegally controlling other people's computer information systems
The Shandong Public Security Network Security Department found out that a criminal gang headed by Yang set up multiple phishing websites to induce users to download software installation packages bundled with the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus, illegally control other people's computer information systems, and steal network assets. The amount involved was more than 3 million yuan.
At present, the local public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against Yang and other 15 criminal suspects in accordance with the law.
Case 4
The Guangdong Public Security Network Security Department detected the case of Li and others illegally controlling other people’s computer information systems
The Guangdong Public Security Network Security Department found out that a criminal gang headed by Li put the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus on the Internet, illegally controlled other people's computer information systems, and stole network assets. The amount involved was more than 200,000 yuan.
At present, the local public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against 13 suspects including Li.
Case 5
The Jiaxing Public Security and Cybersecurity Department of Zhejiang Province detected the case of Zhou and others illegally controlling other people’s computer information systems
The Internet Security Department of Jiaxing Public Security Bureau in Zhejiang Province found that a criminal gang headed by Zhou bundled the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus into regular social software installation packages and built a fake official download website, inducing a large number of netizens to download software carrying the "Silver Fox" Trojan virus, illegally controlling other people's computer information systems, and stealing network assets. The amount involved was more than 200,000 yuan.
At present, the local public security organs have taken criminal coercive measures against three suspects including Zhou.
Precautionary and Disposal Guide
1. Prevention at the source: downloading should be "stomatophilia"
Check the domain name: Be sure to download software through the official website. Carefully identify the website domain name and be wary of counterfeit features such as similar words, multiple horizontal bars, and unofficial suffixes.
Bookmark the official website: Bookmark the official website of commonly used software in your browser to avoid searching through search engines every time.
Be wary of advertisements: Be wary of download links marked "advertising" and "promotion" in search engines, and give priority to natural search results with the "official" logo.
Verify the signature: Right-click to view the file properties before installation to confirm whether the digital signature is from the official manufacturer.
2. Process prevention: links must be “authenticated”
Verify identity: If you receive a "meeting" or "subsidy" link from the group, you must contact the sender by phone or video for verification.
Identify URLs: Be wary of unofficial domain name links that require you to fill in your bank card and password. Formal subsidy applications are usually made on the government’s official website (.gov.cn) or official APP.
Do not fill in sensitive information: Be vigilant if any link asks for SMS verification code or bank card password.
3. Emergency treatment: "Disconnect" if poisoned
Immediately disconnect from the network: If you find computer abnormalities (such as automatic mouse operation, automatic software sending messages), immediately disconnect from the network.
Change password: Change social account and bank account passwords on the security device.
Notification and warning: Immediately notify friends, colleagues and customers that their accounts have been stolen to prevent others from being deceived.
Professional scanning and killing: Contact the IT department or use professional anti-virus software to scan and kill the virus completely, and reinstall the system if necessary.
Internet alert
According to Article 285 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, anyone who violates state regulations and intrudes into computer information systems in the fields of national affairs, national defense construction, or cutting-edge science and technology shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or criminal detention.
Anyone who violates state regulations by intruding into a computer information system other than those specified in the preceding paragraph or using other technical means to obtain data stored, processed or transmitted in the computer information system, or illegally controlling the computer information system, if the circumstances are serious, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years or criminal detention, and may also be fined; if the circumstances are particularly serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years, and concurrently fined.
Providing programs and tools specifically used to intrude into and illegally control computer information systems, or provide programs and tools to others knowing that they are committing illegal and criminal acts of intruding into and illegally controlling computer information systems. If the circumstances are serious, they shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph.
